Pralognan-la-Vanoise has always been a stopping point in the Alps. Located at the foot of the massif and the Col de la Vanoise, it is the last village in the valley connecting the Savoie valleys and the Italian Piedmont.
Inhabited since the 12th century, Pralognan was originally a site for high-altitude livestock farming and milk production. This agricultural tradition continues to this day.
A place of passage and hospitality, “Pralo” (as it is known to locals) became one of the pioneering winter sports resorts in Savoie at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1953, the Mont-Bochor cable car was inaugurated, then the fastest in the world!
This rich and diverse mountain culture, maintained by the people of Pralognan over generations, has allowed this authentic ski destination to preserve its simplicity and uniqueness
